Staying Missions Minded

Recently, the Lord has given me an urge to take the gospel to wherever He opens the door. He's put in me a heart for missions and I'm so excited about it! When I say missions, I'm not just referring to overseas trips to minister the gospel. I believe as people of God we are to live a lifestyle of missions. That means sharing the gospel with the lost wherever we go.

I'm also learning that missions is not just going out and blasting people with the good news. It's also training them to be disciples of Christ. So the gospel message is not only for the lost. As the scripture says, the gospel is "the power of God unto salvation for everyone that believes". As Christians, we are in a process of salvation and we need the gospel too. For a minute, let's look at the general concept of missions. If I were to go overseas to try to get people saved, I would only be doing half of the Great Commission. It would be very irresponsible of me to go win souls for Christ without making sure that these people are in the hands of those who would be able to disciple them. Holistic missions ministry is both reaching and equipping.

I want to encourage you to stay missions minded. You are in a mission field right now. Use every gift that God has given you to draw people to Christ. (Both believers and nonbelievers need to draw closer to God.) If He's given you the gift to sing, dance, rap, make muffins lol...do it for His glory! When He is lifted up, He will draw all men unto Himself. And as a Christian, this should be our heart's cry.
